"etrium" awarded prize

As one of the most energy-efficient commercial buildings in Germany, the "etrium" passive office building at TRIOTOP has won second place in the energy efficiency competition "PROM des Jahres 2009".

The prize was awarded by RWE Energy AG in Berlin on 8th of July 2009 and recognizes the "etrium" at TRIOTOP as "trend-setting in ecological terms". The company also attests that the "etrium" has an "exemplary cost-benefit ratio". With less than 10 kWh per square metre, the three-storey passive office building consumes 90% less heating energy a year than a conventional new building. Moreover, all other electricity costs, for example, for air conditioning and lighting, are minimal in the "etrium".

The "PROM des Jahres" prize was the second award for the "etrium". The building already received the gold seal of quality "Gütesiegel" from the German Sustainable Building Council (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Nachhaltiges Bauen (DGNB)) for sustainable building in Germany in January 2009.
